As we continue to build the case for the impeachment and removal of Donald Trump from public office, we must place the focus on key Trump officials who must be impeached and removed as well. Pete Hegseth is engaged in gross violations of human rights, carrying out unauthorized bombing campaigns in the Caribbean and Pacific that have resulted in civilian casualties. Let's be clear: we are not at war. What Trump and Hegseth ordered isn't a military operation. It's murder.
As evidence mounts that these strikes were both plainly criminal and directed from the Oval Office and from the very top of the Defense Department, some members of Congress are finally taking notice. Lawmakers, including Senators Wicker and Reed, the chair and ranking member of the Armed Services Committee, are demanding answers.
But answers aren't enough.
We knew Hegseth was unfit to serve during his nomination process. Every day since, he's only proved us right. Impeachment is the constitutional remedy for an official who abuses his power, undermines the rule of law, and actively harms communities here and abroad.
Unfortunately, without sustained pressure from constituents like you, lawmakers are unlikely to act with the urgency this moment demands.
