Donald Trump just called affordability a “hoax” and a “scam.”

Yes — the same Donald Trump who spent last week claiming he’s the “affordability president” is now saying the very idea of affordability is a “Democrat scam.”

Let me be clear: Affordability isn’t a talking point. It’s not a buzzword. It’s a reality for families who are struggling every single day — to put food on the table, to afford health care, to get their kids through school, even to buy holiday gifts.

And Donald Trump is making it worse. His tariffs are raising prices on working families. His reckless economic policies are squeezing small businesses and driving up costs. Republicans aren’t offering solutions — they’re pouring gasoline on the fire.

That’s why I’m running for the U.S. Senate. Because families don’t need slogans — they need relief.

Look, you’re going to hear my Democratic opponents talk about affordability in this primary. But the truth is, they have been in Congress for years, and life hasn’t gotten easier for working people.

Here in Illinois, Governor Pritzker and I have delivered real results:
• We eliminated the state grocery tax.
• We raised the minimum wage.
• We relieved millions of dollars in medical debt for families across our state.
• We lowered the cost of prescription drugs.

That’s what an affordability agenda looks like — not rhetoric, but action.

And that’s exactly what I’ll bring to Washington. But I need your help to get there.

If you’re with me in this fight to finally make life more affordable for every family, can you make a contribution today to my campaign for U.S. Senate and help send me to Washington to fight for you?
