Get to know Representative Katie Porter from California’s 45th District, friend.

She first made a name for herself in California when she took on Wall Street during the housing crisis in 2012. Acting as California’s watchdog against the banks, she made sure that they paid back billions to homeowners who had been cheated thus helping tens of thousands of families move forward with their lives.

In Congress, she continues to fight powerful and greedy special interest groups, including the fossil fuel industry. Rep. Porter did not wait for political expediency to support Mr. Trump’s impeachment and stood for what was right. And she stands for climate justice. In her first term, she pushed to ban drilling off the California coast, invest in clean energy, and uphold environmental protections.

*That’s why I’m excited to announce my support for her reelection campaign. Friend, in 2018, Rep. Porter was the first Democrat ever to win in CA-45 — donate today to ensure she stays in office:*

I often talk about breaking the corporate stranglehold on our government because it’s one of our biggest impediments to progress. Corporations have corrupted our government. Too many of our elected officials are looking out for greedy polluters and CEOs, rather than their constituents. Rep. Porter is different because she’s ready to take them on, which is one of the many reasons I’m proud to endorse her as part of our Climate Candidate series.

*Join me in supporting her reelection campaign — we need Rep. Katie Porter to stay in Congress.* ( [link removed] )
