Friend, while we’re waiting for the official election results from the NYC Board of Elections, I have some exciting news to share with you: Eliot Engel conceded and the Associated Press called our election, securing our victory.
I’m honored to be the Democratic nominee from New York’s 16th District for Congress. I’m excited to get to work for the people of the Bronx and Westchester, and cause trouble for the status quo in Washington.
I also wanted to take this moment to specifically thank the Progressive Change Campaign Committee and folks like you. Thank you for believing in me and our ability to fight for issues like Medicare For All, a Green New Deal, and Wall Street reform.
The primary may be behind us, but our fight has just begun. We’re now looking towards making sure we’re set up to win in November’s general election, continuing conversations with constituents, in-depth policy research, supporting other progressives in upcoming key primaries, and so much more.
It’s not going to be easy to accomplish this, but I know that this team has been a part of making amazing things happen in the past. My candidacy is living proof of that -- and I know that together, we can work towards a brighter future.
Thank you for all your support, Friend. I wouldn’t be here without it.
