While we’re waiting for the official election results from the NYC Board of Elections, I have some exciting news to share with you: just moments ago, the Associated Press called the primary for our campaign.
I’m honored to be the Democratic nominee from New York’s 16th District for Congress. I know we won this primary because we connected to folks on the ground and across the country.
I want to take this moment to specifically thank Rep. Ayanna Pressley for her support of my vision and our campaign. I look forward to working closely with her in Congress, and to causing trouble for the status quo in Washington.
I also want to thank folks like you for giving our grassroots campaign the support it needed to succeed. Together, we’ve done incredible work together over the past year, and I look forward to continuing this work in partnership with you.
The primary may be behind us, but our fight has just begun. We’re continuing conversations with constituents, conducting in-depth policy research, supporting other progressives in upcoming primaries, and so much more.
It’s not going to be easy to accomplish everything we want to, but I know that this team has been a part of making amazing things happen in the past. My victory and Ayanna’s leadership in Congress are living proof of this. I know that, together, we will work towards a brighter future.
