This is David Hogg. You might know Scott Jennings as everyone’s favorite
professional lib rage-baiter, MAGA court jester, or fascist propagandist.
But did you know he’s also apparently an expert on affordability and what
working people go through?
When I was on CNN with him and he started running his mouth about
affordability, I was left with no choice but to roast him.

[ [link removed] ]DONATE TO LEADERS WE DESERVE
For reasons beyond me, CNN keeps paying Scott to play “working-class
whisperer” as he sits in a DC studio, flashing his expensive watch to the
camera, and pretending he knows what it’s like to worry about making ends
meet.
So on the panel, when he started lecturing Zohran Mamdani about
affordability, I’d had enough. I turned to Scott and said:
“Honestly, I think part of the reason why Zohran is so powerful is because
people are tired of being lectured by men with Rolexes on CNN about
affordability in this country.”
And something amazing happened, John– for maybe the first time,
Scott Jennings had nothing to say.
The look on his face when he realized how bad he just got cooked?
Priceless.
Now, I’m not telling you this because I enjoy roasting pundits who make a
living spewing lies and whatever flavor of hate MAGA’s selling that day
(okay, maybe a little). It’s because this moment perfectly captures what’s
broken in politics – and why Leaders We Deserve exists.
There are leaders like Zohran Mamdani who listen to their community, build
policy around people’s needs, and fight for working families. Then there
are people like Scott Jennings, who make six (probably more) figures
kissing Trump’s butt while pretending to speak for the working class.
Democrats won big this election because of young, bold candidates who told
voters the truth and ran on real plans to make life more affordable.
That’s the new generation of leadership we’re building – powered by
people, not pundits – and we need to build off this week’s momentum before
it slips away.
If you want to see more grassroots candidates fight for working people
(and more Rolex-wearing pundits get roasted), [ [link removed] ]please split a donation
between Leaders We Deserve and the Progressive Change Campaign Committee
today to help us elect the next wave of Democrats who actually get it.

The future isn't being built in cable news studios – it’s being built by
organizers, voters, and young leaders across the country who refuse to
wait our turn. Like the hundreds I met at Zohran's victory party the next
evening after that CNN interview.
Thank you for fueling this movement.
– David Hogg, Leaders We Deserve co-founder
P.S. Scott went back on CNN the next night and tried to say the election
was terrible for Democrats.
Yeah, I’m sure sweeping every competitive race and landslide Democratic
victories is just awful. I [ [link removed] ]tweeted at him and asked if he had his Rolex
on when he said that, too. Moments like this actually matter – we’re not
just changing the message, but changing the messenger, and believe it or
not, viral moments like this do make a difference and can bring more
people into our movement.
Let’s keep going – and never let Scott Jennings forget how bad he got
roasted. (He really walked right into it – [ [link removed] ]here's the link to the clip.
