Last month, this campaign stood proudly on a platform of inclusiveness and equality. We came together to reject the hateful views of my opponent — and now New York is on a path toward a better future.
I’m proud of the role that we played in the turning of the page here in New York City. Because of you, the hateful ideology of Ruben Diaz, Sr. will soon be a thing of the past on the NYC Council — and it won’t be representing us in Congress.
Donald Trump is an embarrassment, and he embodies the very worst of this country. He embraces corruption with relish, puts his own personal interests above the American people, and erodes our institutions through both his rhetoric and actions. And don’t even get me started on the “quiet part out loud” brand of bigotry and hate that has become mainstream on his watch. This is the very thing that we rejected last month.
Donald Trump is a disaster for this country. Another four years of this madness isn’t an option. We did it once in New York City, and we must continue building this movement so that we can do it again in November.
