The Trump administration has announced sweeping, unlawful changes to federal housing policy that could force more than 4,000 Marylanders out of their homes.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is trying to dismantle decades of bipartisan policy that helps families, seniors, veterans, LGBTQ+ youth, and people in crisis stay safely housed.
Their new plan would:
❌ Slash the funding states rely on for permanent supportive housing
❌ Punish service providers who don’t enforce the administration’s political views
❌ Impose conditions Congress never approved.
We filed this lawsuit because HUD’s actions are illegal and because we deserve a housing system focused on stability, not ideological punishment.
This is yet another example of the Trump administration trying to rewrite federal law by executive fiat — and once again, it falls to state attorneys general to defend the people we serve.
Will you chip in $5 today to my campaign to help us fight back against these unlawful housing cuts?
