 Recreation Classes
Join us at the Hurst Recreation Center for a variety of creative and engaging classes! We offer different programs for all ages, so there’s something for the whole family.
Featured Classes:
- Beginners Crochet Creations: Learn the art of crochet from the very first loop! By the end of this 4-week class, everyone will complete a mini-crochet project.
- Hoop Start Basketball: This fun and engaging program focuses on building skills through high-energy instruction, teamwork, and recreational play.
- Karate: Build confidence, discipline, and strength while mastering exciting martial arts moves in a supportive, high-energy environment.
Winter & Spring Class Registration begins Monday, December 8 for Hurst residents, and Monday, December 15 for non-residents. Spots fill quickly, so be sure to register in advance online or in-person at the Hurst Recreation Center. To view our full catalog of classes, click on the button below!

Celebrate the season with us! The joyful carols of the DPE Choir will fill the Library while you participate in a hands-on ornament craft and enjoy a sweet tree cake—perfect for families to enjoy together.
 Sensory-Friendly Breakfast with Santa
December 13 | 9–10:30 a.m. Hurst Recreation Center 700 Mary Dr. Hurst, TX 76053
Santa photos, or the holidays, can be overwhelming for some children. We are excited to offer a time for those families in our community with children with sensory or mobility needs to participate in a calmer environment. We will have a photographer on-site to snap a photo with Santa, fun crafts, and a few other activities to enjoy.

1-5 p.m. Let the holidays wrap you in cheer! Support the Library and cross gift wrapping off your to-do list at All Wrapped Up, a festive fundraiser hosted by the Teen Innovation Panel. Our team of teen gift-wrapping pros will transform your presents into perfectly wrapped surprises for just $1 donation per package (limit 10 packages per person).
2-3 p.m. While you wait, enjoy the magical sounds of the season with a live holiday concert by the Concert Bells of Fort Worth—it’s the perfect way to give back and get into the holiday spirit!
