Hi John,
Welcome to the latest New PA Project Education Fund (NPPEF) newsletter! |
We're back on the ground registering folks to vote, and updating their registrations, for the primary election on May 19th, 2026.
Every year is election year, so our work is never done.
Be on the lookout for more exciting, engaging programs from our teams in the coming weeks. |

| When our canvassing team first met this gentlemen, he was apathetic about voting—a "non-believer".
However, after chatting with our staff, he registered to vote for the first time in his life! Pictured here is him holding one of our voter guides.
We can count on him to cast his ballot this May 19th for the primary election. |

We're excited to be back on the ground, equipped with civic education to help folks get registered to vote for the upcoming primary election. May will be here sooner than we think!
Rain, snow, sleet, hail—no matter what, we are on the ground year-round, determined to help register every eligible Pennsylvanian to vote.
Check out these photos taken by our hardworking canvassers across the Commonwealth. |

@nppef What is a closed primary election? Here's a quick breakdown 👇🏾 Pennsylvania has a closed primary system.
This means that Republican voters can vote only for Republican candidates, and Democratic voters can vote only for Democratic candidates. The candidates who receive the highest number of votes go on to run in the general election in November. This means that voting in a primary election for party nominees is limited to only voters registered as Democratic or Republican.
However, all registered voters can vote in a primary election if the ballot includes any of the following: - A constitutional amendment question - A ballot question - A special election in their district. ➡️ If you want to vote for a party nominee this May in the PA primary election, be sure to update your registration before the registration deadline (May 5, 2026), so it reflects a party affiliation of either a Democrat or Republican.
