Republicans just scored a major victory in Texas by pushing through a redistricting map designed to cement their House majority before 2026. It is part of a broader national strategy to lock in power and sidestep the will of the voters.

But something important is happening across America.

States are fighting back.
California is challenging GOP power grabs in the courts.
Virginia is moving on reforms.
And here in Colorado, our Democratic candidate for governor has said he supports emergency redistricting so our state can join that fight and protect fair representation.

This moment is bigger than one map in Texas. It is part of a national struggle over democracy itself. And it is why the firewall we are building in Colorado’s Fourth District matters so much.

CO 04 is not considered a swing district, and the political establishment assumes it is safely Republican. They think Lauren Boebert can parachute in, stir up chaos, divide communities, and coast to reelection.

But they are wrong.

While Republicans manipulate districts to secure their power, we are building a grassroots coalition they never expected. Ranchers, teachers, veterans, young families, working people, and independents who are tired of being ignored are showing up in ways that surprise even seasoned operatives.

If Democrats want to stop extremism and hold the House, we cannot only play defense in the usual places. We need new battlegrounds. We need breakthroughs in districts like CO 04.

And here is the truth behind why this matters.

Millions of us across this country are standing up to authoritarianism and fighting back against Project 2026. I have been in the streets all year with people from every corner of Colorado resisting racially driven partisan gerrymanders, standing up to ICE overreach, calling out the weaponization of our justice system, and refusing to stay silent while the Supreme Court bends to political pressure.



Our democracy and our institutions are under siege.
This is not politics as usual.
This is a fight for the future of the American experiment.

And we need leaders who will not just step into the trenches but know how to fight because they have already been doing so for years. That is what this movement represents. Our future is too precious to hand over to extremists.



We are patriots who love this country.
We are patriots who despise fascism, aspiring dictatorship, and the people like Lauren Boebert who enable it.

But to stay competitive and keep building this movement, I need to be honest.

We are falling behind financially.
We still have a long way to go to remain viable before the end of the year, and the resources required to challenge Boebert in a district like this are significant. January 1st marks the start of election season, and every campaign will surge forward with massive spending and national backing.

That is not the reality of our race.

I am not taking corporate PAC money. I am not taking AIPAC money. Corporate mega donors are not bankrolling this campaign. There are no dark money super PACs doing the heavy lifting.

This campaign is powered entirely by people.
That is what makes it honest.
That is what makes it strong.
And that is what will make it historic if we win.

Together we can catch the political establishment off guard and prove that power does not belong to those who redraw maps in the dark. It belongs to the people willing to stand up and build something stronger.
