I’m ready to keep building on what we’ve started – protecting our community, expanding opportunity, and ensuring every San Diegan has a chance to thrive...
Friend,
Two years ago today, I was sworn in as San Diego’s first Black Woman Supervisor. It was a milestone made possible by the
people who believed our communities – all communities – deserve a seat at the table.
Since then, it has been my honor to work side by side with neighbors, small business owners, labor leaders, advocates,
and community leaders to deliver for District Four.
We’ve expanded access to mental healthcare, housing, and food. We’ve brought millions of dollars of investment into
neighborhoods, businesses, and arts and culture. We’ve worked to balance public safety with civil rights and human
dignity. And we’ve stood up to the chaos and cruelty of the Trump Administration and the billionaires trying to profit
off our pain.
We’ve leaned into community to fight the chaos.
Every step of the way, your feedback and advocacy – at community meetings, public comments, kitchen tables, and one on
one conversations – have shaped this work. Because this office is not about a title or headline; it’s about people.
Now, as we head into re-election, I’m ready to keep building on what we’ve started – protecting our community, expanding
opportunity, and ensuring every San Diegan has a chance to thrive.
We’ve made history together already. Let’s do it again.
In Community,
