Team, I'm following up with some critical updates on Southern California's air quality. Click this link to jump directly to the petition we need you to sign: [link removed]

The South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) is in charge of protecting air quality in Southern California. Two of the major culprits are the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, some of the largest sources of harmful air pollutants in Southern California.

In October we reached out to ask you to share your thoughts with this local air quality board, and you blew us away. The first 24 comments of their official responses are from organizations—followed by more than five hundred comments from EnviroVoters members like you individually reaching out to share your concerns!

[Alt Text: A document titled “Responses to Comments” showing a section of written public comments. The page includes a header paragraph explaining the purpose of the responses, followed by a highlighted comment labeled “Written Comments #25 – #551.” Below it is an email-style message discussing concerns about clean air, public health, and a proposed cooperative agreement.]

But despite this outpouring of support, only one member of the SCAQMD board held strong against pressure from corporate polluters by voting NO. Ultimately, the board approved an industry-authored agreement that excuses the Ports' pollution instead of holding them accountable, taking a massive step back on clean air and public health protections.

We've made them listen to us before, and now it's time to get loud again. Fill out this quick form to tell them that we're disappointed in the decision they made to approve this rule—and that we expect them to protect communities over industry profits.

Working families shouldn't have to decide between their health and their paycheck. Let's clean up California's air to protect public health and affordability in our state.

Thanks for being part of this movement,
