** Thank you for supporting We're Not Done: A March for Justice and Decarceration!
------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Friends,

Thank you all so much for your support on Tuesday night. Hundreds of New Yorkers came out to Union Square for powerful music, testimony, and performances, and then proceeded to march (over 25 blocks) to Governor Cuomo's NYC office. An even greater number of you all were able to support us digitally—close to 400 of you have used the automated email tool ([link removed]) created by NYIC and an even more still have been active supporting this work on social media. Thanks so much to everyone who was able to contact their legislators and demand they pass all 5 bills that address the racist violence of police, jails, courts, and prisons. Again, thank you so much for joining us on the #RoadToJustice, but we are (still) not done!

Next week, the New York State legislature votes on bills. In advance of these votes, we need to let the two most powerful legislators—the Majority Leader and Speaker—know that they MUST pass these five bills!

ACTION ITEM: Call Senate Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins at 518-455-2585 (Albany) or 914-423-4031 (District) AND Speaker Heastie at 518-455-3791 (Albany) or 718-654-6539 (District). If you don’t talk to a staff member, be sure to leave a voicemail.

Use the image attached here as a call-in script, then be sure to share it with your networks, whether that be on social media or otherwise!

** Time is running out—share your support for the #ProtectOurCourts Act today!
------------------------------------------------------------
As the end of the 2020 legislative session quickly approaches, we are still fighting to pass the #ProtectOurCourts Act! If you haven't already, please sign this petition ([link removed]) calling for a vote to get #ICEOutofCourts in New York State. If you've already signed the petition, take a moment to share it with your networks, either on social media or via email. Below is some sample language for encouraging others to take a stand for immigrant New Yorkers:
* Before reopening state courthouses, New York State needs to pass the #ProtectOurCourts Act & get #ICEOutofCourts!
I just signed a petition to show my support for this critical legislation that protects the rights of immigrant NY'ers—will you sign too? [link removed]
