Justice Democrats

John,

When people in power build their political careers by taking checks from anywhere and anyone, you never really know whose interests they’re serving.

Our current representative, Diana DeGette, has taken contributions from every corner of Washington’s influence machine, from Big Pharma and Big Tech to fossil fuel lobbies and corporate defense contractors.

That’s not how you build trust, that’s how you lose it.

My story is different.

An old picture of Melat and her family standing in front of a fence.

My family came here from Ethiopia through the Diversity Visa Lottery, determined to build a better future. In those early years, my parents worked every job they could find, saved every dollar, and showed me that nothing matters more than honesty and showing up when it counts.

That’s why I refuse corporate PAC money, want to make sure every dollar this campaign raises is spent responsibly, and why I’m committed to never selling out the working families in our district to the same lobbyists my opponent has spent decades cozying up to.

I’m running this campaign with small donors and the people who live right here in CO-01 — not lobbyists, not corporations, not AIPAC.

Denver deserves leadership shaped by real struggle, not by decades of Washington dealmaking. If you believe in a politics rooted in integrity, not access… in community, not connections… in standing up even when it costs you something… Will you split $5 or whatever you can to help us keep building a campaign that puts people first?

Contribute $5

Washington has enough politicians who will take money from anyone to stay in power. Denver deserves someone willing to tell the truth, and someone you can trust to fight for you.

Thanks for letting me share my story,

Melat
