Hi John,

It’s no secret that Maine is home to some of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the world. Here in the Second District, we’re proudly home to Acadia National Park, which exemplifies that beautiful scenery our state is famous for.

But we can’t take it for granted. That’s why July is commemorated as National Parks and Recreation Month, prompting us all to reflect on what we can be doing to protect our state’s natural beauty and preserve it for future generations.

This year, we looked into deferred maintenance -- necessary improvements or upgrades which have been put off for a year or more -- and discovered that Acadia National Park is struggling under nearly $65 million worth of deferred maintenance. Congressman Golden is helping to lead the push to make sure we fund these critical improvements.

John, we need your help to send a message in support of our national parks by signing this petition calling on the federal government to address deferred maintenance >>

SUPPORT OUR NATIONAL PARKS

These national parks are more than just a beautiful backdrop, John.

They’re a vital part of our economy, supplying the jobs and tourism revenue that keep our state running smoothly -- not to mention their contribution to building a more sustainable and eco-friendly future.

We need to do all we can to support our national parks, especially when they’re struggling under staggering levels of deferred maintenance.

Can you stand with us in support of our national parks by signing our petition calling for these deferred maintenance requests to be met?

Thanks for all you do,
