Disturbing reporting implicates Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in gross violations of human rights for orders given as part of the administration's unauthorized bombing campaign in the Caribbean and Pacific. Some would call it a war crime, but a reminder: we are not at war. What Hegseth ordered is simply murder.
As evidence emerges that these strikes were both plainly criminal and directed from the very top, Congress is taking notice. Lawmakers — including Senators Wicker (R-Miss.) and Reed (D-R.I.), the chair and ranking member of the Armed Services Committee — are demanding answers.
