Governor DeWine and Governor Braun Place Wager on Big Ten Championship
(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ahead of the Big Ten Football Championship Game between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Indiana Hoosiers, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Indiana Governor Mike Braun have placed a friendly wager on the outcome of the game.
The Buckeyes and Hoosiers – the top two teams in the country and the only remaining undefeated FBS teams in college football – will face off Saturday night in Indianapolis with the conference title on the line.
In the spirit of friendly competition, Governor DeWine and Governor Braun have wagered locally made popcorn that highlights each state’s rich agricultural roots.
“As the No. 1-ranked team in the nation, Ohio State has shown all season what hard work, discipline, and Buckeye determination look like,” said Governor DeWine. “I have every confidence that Coach Ryan Day and this team will finish strong and bring another Big Ten Championship back to Ohio. O-H!”
“Let’s go, Hoosiers! Today I’m wagering some of Indiana’s finest gourmet popcorn from Just Pop In Popcorn Shop,” said Governor Braun. “IU has the grit to bring home the Big Ten football title right here in Indianapolis, and I like our chances.”
Governor DeWine has wagered Scarlet & Gray Vanilla Butternut Popcorn from Al’s Delicious Popcorn, an Ohio staple celebrating 40 years in Columbus this year. Governor Braun has wagered popcorn from Just Pop In!, an award-winning gourmet popcorn company located in Indianapolis.
No. 1 Ohio State and No. 2 Indiana will kick off the Big Ten Championship at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025. The game will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis and will be broadcast on FOX.
