Next Tuesday, the U.S. Senate is finally reconvening in Washington after a
weeks-long recess. Meanwhile, nurses haven't had a single break from the
harsh realities of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Due to our government's inactions, nurses have had to face unsafe working
conditions, a lack of PPE, and constant uncertainty and stress.
As the Senate returns next week, we must keep the pressure on our
lawmakers to make sure that nurses have the proper equipment and safety
measures during this global pandemic.

Senate to pass the HEROES Act?
If we can get 100,000 more signatures by next Tuesday, we'll be able to
send them the message that nurses need critical protections, loud and
clear:

A recent survey of 23,000 nurses in all 50 states, Washington D.C., and
four territories found that a whopping 87 percent of respondents reported
having to reuse a single-use disposable respirator or mask with a COVID-19
patient. This is unacceptable.
Fortunately, the HEROES Act legislation passed by the House of
Representatives includes key provisions that would finally get lifesaving
PPE to frontline workers. Now, we've got to push the Senate to make that
act law.
Nurses' lives are at risk, and we are counting on you to speak up as we
fight on the front lines to protect the public. While we keep you safe, we
need your help to keep us safe. [ [link removed] ]Add your name today in support of the

Yours in action,
