The ICE raids that the Trump administration used to terrorize Angelenos were unjust and inhumane.

That’s why I wrote to the House Oversight Committee demanding an investigation — because we need to get to the bottom of why this happened, how it impacted communities across Los Angeles, and how we restore justice and the rule of law.

Los Angeles is built by immigrants, powered by workers, and strengthened by our diversity. This hearing confronted a crisis we cannot afford to overlook. We heard firsthand accounts of how these raids hurt families and established the public record to ensure future accountability.

Alongside our Democratic representatives, I helped Congressmembers establish a public dashboard, the first of its kind, for Americans to report unlawful actions in their communities so that we can keep track of unlawful detentions and abuses carried out by ICE agents.
