Trump "accidentally" lets slip plan to rename Kennedy Center — after himself

Oopsie crazy. The cat's apparently out of the bag on our vainglorious nincompoop-in-chief's latest pathetic move to deify himself. Having already gone to great lengths to destroy the reputation and prestige of America's preeminent performing arts center, the MAGA cult leader "accidentally" let slip just what he has in store next. During a speech at the US Institute of Peace yesterday, which he had his named slapped on earlier this week, Trump said with a chuckle, "You have a big event on Friday at the Trump-Kennedy Center — op, excuse me. The Kennedy Center. Pardon me, such a terrible mistake." Donald's constant need for praise and validation is without parallel, and he's not about to leave the myth-making and memorializing to posthumous chance. SAD!

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Supreme Court gives Trump-backed gerrymander of Texas the green light to move forward

By a predictable 6-3 margin, the conservative-stacked Supreme Court just officially made a huge mess of Texas, rubber-stamping Republicans' nakedly partisan scheme to effectively steal five congressional seats from Democrats in next year's midterm elections. The court's three liberal justices dissented, but the high court's super-bloc of right-wing ideologues ensured that Donald Trump's plan to disenfranchise Democratic voters in the Lone Star State and insulate himself from actual accountability in the House would move forward without further delay.

Newsom’s new maps opens up MAJOR opportunity to unseat California’s “Mini-Trump”

Marni von Wilpert for Congress: The new maps pushed through by California Governor Gavin Newsom to fight back against Trump’s efforts to rig the midterms has opened up the perfect opportunity to get rid of one of his most loyal acolytes in the House, the infamously corrupt Darrel Issa. Progressive federal labor attorney Marni von Wilpert is launching her bid to take advantage of this newly competitive district and unseat Issa for good. A proven winner, von Wilpert flipped a City Council seat from red to blue, fought to ban ghost guns, prosecuted the opioid industry, and took on price gougers driving up costs for families, and helped write the PRO Act to strengthen unions. This fight isn’t going to be easy, but the new maps have given us an opportunity to steal a seat we didn’t have before. We can’t afford to squander this advantage in elections where every last seat could mean the difference between holding the tide against Trump or allowing fascism to take over. Will you make a donation to help win this critical race?

House Democrat to file articles of impeachment against Hegseth over boat strikes: "War crimes have been committed"
While there's little chance Mike Johnson and his MAGA clown caucus will ever let Michigan Rep. Shri Thanedar's measure come to a floor vote, it's worth noting that Democrats are stepping up to hold the Trump regime accountable for its many, many, illegal transgressions. In a video statement yesterday, Thanedar announced his intentions to file two articles of impeachment, explaining: "Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth is uniquely unqualified for his role. Every day, it becomes clearer he is engaging in unlawful, illegal activity." Thanedar said the first article would be "for murder and conspiracy to murder" over the deadly strikes on alleged narco-boats and the second for the "reckless and unlawful mishandling of classified information" — aka, Signalgate.

Rand Paul calls for Pete Hegseth to testify under oath on strike on survivors

The pressure on Secretary of War Crimes Pete Hegseth to publicly testify before Congress is intensifying. While we won't be holding our breath just yet, we will have popcorn at the ready should Paul and his fellow senators manage to force Pete to sit under very bright lights for a proper dressing down.

Pam Bondi orders law enforcement to investigate anti-fascist groups over accusations of domestic terrorism

In a nefarious and downright Orwellian move, Donald Trump's absolute hack of an attorney general issued a sweeping new order demanding federal law enforcement step up its investigations into ‌the nebulous anti-fascist movement and other similar "extremist groups," whatever the hell that's supposed to mean. Nowhere in the order will you find requests for agents to investigate right-wing extremism, which has been and continues to be the primary motivating force behind actual domestic terrorism in the United States. Instead, Bondi is broadly redefining the term "domestic terrorism" to be so vague it can apply to almost anyone opposing Trump's autocratic regime. In her memo, Bondi ominously declared, "These ‌domestic terrorists use violence or the threat of violence to advance political and social agendas, including opposition to law and immigration enforcement; extreme views in favor of mass migration and open borders; adherence to radical gender ideology, anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, or anti-Christianity." Did you get all that? The slope into full-blown fascism just got a whole lot slipperier.

JD Vance messaged infamous leaked group chat day after it became public: "This chat's kind of dead. Anything going on?"
"Ha ha. Ha ha ha. We've been flagrantly ignoring official government protocol and endangering military personnel by casually sharing classified information about imminent air strikes over group text, and now we've been caught. I, sitting Vice President JD Vance, am taking none of this seriously and find it all to be quite humorous. Now is the time for a lousy joke, which I will now share via group text!"

Admiral says there was no "kill them all" order in boat attack, but video alarms lawmakers
Navy Adm. Frank Bradley told lawmakers during a series of closed-door classified briefings yesterday that there was no explicit "kill them all" order from Secretary of War Crimes Pete Hegseth, even as video footage of the infamous Sept. 2nd attack left grave questions over the second strike that killed two survivors clinging to wreckage following the initial attack. Rep. Adam Smith, the top Democrat on the House Armed Services Committee, demanded further investigation and said the survivors were “basically two shirtless people clinging to the bow of a capsized and inoperable boat, drifting in the water — until the missiles come and kill them." The cover-up is in full swing, folks.

Grand jury rejects new indictment against New York Attorney General Letitia James
Well, now, would you look at that. In another embarrassing blow, Pam Bondi failed to secure a new indictment against New York Attorney General and Trump nemesis Letitia James after a judge dismissed the DOJ's previous mortgage fraud prosecution less than two weeks ago. James' initial case was tossed just before Thanksgiving because the acting US attorney at the time, former Trump personal attorney Lindsey Halligan, was illegally appointed. Undeterred, Trump's hapless attorney general pressured prosecutors to run it back with a new grand jury in Virginia, but grand jurors promptly rejected their request to bring new charges yesterday. Word on the street is Bondi will try yet again for a new indictment, because revenge is a dish apparently best served ice cold, covered in freezer burn, and months past its expiration date.

Take Action: Demand Trump drop his retaliatory investigation of NY AG Letitia James!

US layoffs this year topped 1 million, new data shows
How, exactly, one million layoffs and counting square with Trump's boisterous claims of creating the "hottest economy" the world has ever seen is anyone's guess, but something tells us the rationale won't include any actual facts or data. Despite Donald's desperate proclamations insisting otherwise, Americans are now experiencing the largest labor force cuts since 2020 — the last time the MAGA cult leader was in office — and just in time for the holidays to boot.
