BREAKING: The Supreme Court will let Texas use its new racial gerrymander in the midterms. We can’t let up in our fight against this national redistricting crisis.

Team,

The Supreme Court issued a ruling last night, allowing Texas to use its extreme, mid-decade racial gerrymander for the 2026 midterm elections — overruling a federal court order that had blocked the new map’s use this cycle.

Attorney General Eric Holder didn’t mince words:

“It is shameful—and expected—that the Supreme Court has chosen to side with those who seek to undermine our democracy and disenfranchise voters of color. By allowing an egregiously racially gerrymandered map that brazenly dilutes the voices of communities of color to stand, the Court is not only turning a blind eye to discrimination—it is actively enabling it…

“Texans and voters across the country deserve fair, representative congressional maps. The Supreme Court has to be constitutionally bypassed. We will remain in this fight to ensure that voters in Texas—and across the country—have maps that reflect their communities and uphold the principle of equal representation.”

This ruling is a setback, but this fight is far from over.

Texas started this redistricting crisis, and we expect map manipulators to double down in the months ahead — will you rush a donation to make sure the fair maps movement can fight back to preserve our democracy? We need to be able to respond as maps continue to change, whether it’s from court decisions or legislative manipulation: [[link removed]]

Thank you for standing up for our democracy when it matters most.
