Prayers for Bishop Joaquina Nhanala Following the Death of Her Husband, Rev. Eugenio Tomas Mbulo
With great sadness, we share the passing of Rev. Eugenio Tomas Mbulo on December 3, 2025, following a long period of illness. Rev. Tomas was the husband of Bishop Joaquina Filipe Nhanala, the recently retired resident bishop of the Mozambique Episcopal Area of The United Methodist Church. Rev. Eugenio Tomas faithfully served the church in Mozambique in a number of leadership roles. Most recently, he served as director of the Ricatla Ecumenical Seminary in Maputo and as a lecturer, shaping and forming future generations of Christian leaders. Rev. Tomas and Bishop Nhanala are the parents of four children. Funeral arrangements are in process. Prayers of comfort are requested for the family and friends of Rev. Dr. Ron Dunavin, who passed away recently. Ron was a retired pastor in the Southeast District, most recently serving First UMC in Senath. Words of comfort may be sent to his wife, Stella Dunavin, 605 Hogan Ave, Monette, AR 72447.

Prayers are requested for Rev. Kathleen Wilder, retired clergy in the Northeast District serving at Centenary UMC in St. Louis, and her family. Kathleen's mom, Joyce Fincher, passed away last week.
