In the middle of a public health crisis, Trump's Education Secretary Betsy DeVos has shown, yet again, that her priorities are not with everyday people.

She's been the public face of a campaign to force all schools to reopen in the fall -- regardless of CDC guidelines and data.

The Trump administration has also threatened to withhold federal funding for schools that don't reopen on its politically-focused timetable. Most federal education funding helps programs in special education and disadvantaged communities -- as an educator and an advocate for people with disabilities, this is a fight that hits home for Dana.

It is outrageous to endanger the health of teachers, students, and their families by putting a partisan political agenda ahead of what doctors and scientists advise. And it's the height of cruelty to hold hostage the education funding that so many rely on.

This is a moment where elected officials must speak up for their communities. But what do we hear from Rep. John Katko? Silence.
