I’m just about to get on a flight to the Young Democrats of America
Winter Meeting.

Friend,
My name is Kristen Robinson. Some of you may know me as the Chair of
the Buncombe County Democrats, but I’m also one of North
Carolina’s two representatives to the Young Democrats of America
National Committee—and in just a few minutes, I’m going to be
getting on a plane to Omaha, Nebraska for YDA’s Winter Meeting.
So what does a meeting in Omaha have to do with North Carolina? Well,
it's our opportunity to shine.
You’ve probably seen the headlines. Republicans in Raleigh still
can’t pass a budget [2], they’re wasting time on gerrymandering
[3], and meanwhile young people across North Carolina are stepping up
to do the actual work of fixing the mess they’ve created.
This year alone, young Democrats have doubled our organizing compared
to past cycles [3]. We’re knocking more doors, making more calls,
and showing up for our communities because we know 2026 is going to be
one of the most important midterms North Carolina has ever faced. And
people are noticing. When I talk to the press as Chair of the Buncombe
County Democrats, one thing is clear: young voters are becoming the
backbone of this party.
Truthfully, that’s why I volunteered to represent North Carolina
Young Democrats on the national stage. National strategy for the next
two years is being shaped in these rooms, and we've got to be present
in them. States are setting priorities and pushing YDA and the
national party to invest in the places where youth organizing is
actually happening. North Carolina 100% needs to be part of that
conversation.
But sending a full, diverse delegation to this meeting isn’t cheap.
Flights, lodging, and transportation add up fast, and we’re
committed to making sure these opportunities are accessible to Young
Democrats who are doing the work—not just the ones who can afford
the trip.
So I’m asking directly:
IF YOU’RE ABLE, PLEASE HELP US SEND YDNC ORGANIZERS TO OMAHA. YOUR
SUPPORT GETS NORTH CAROLINA A STRONG VOICE ON THE NATIONAL STAGE WHEN
DECISIONS ARE BEING MADE ABOUT FUNDING, MESSAGING, AND SUPPORT FOR
STATES HEADING INTO 2026. [4]
DONATE [4]
North Carolina has a chance to lead. Let’s make sure we’re in the
room.

Young Democrats of North Carolina_
