by S.A. McCarthy
With the 2026 midterms looming, the U.S. Supreme Court is officially weighing in on the redistricting arms race between red and blue states. Late Thursday, the nation's highest judicial authority disagreed with a lower court ruling and instead allowed Texas to implement new congressional district maps expected to take five seats in the U.S. House of Representatives from Democrats and hand them to the GOP.

Chick-Fil-A Waffles on Wokeness with Same-Sex Marriage Post and DEI Focus
by Suzanne Bowdey
While most of corporate America wisely took the temperature of angry consumers and backed away from woke politics, one shocking holdout remains: Chick-fil-A. The accompanying ad campaign featured a cast of androgynous minorities clad in avant-garde costumes, exotic extraterrestrial landscapes, and slogans like, "create exuberant," "live vivid," "delete ordinary," "break molds," and "copy nothing." Noticeably, the sports car commercial did not feature any cars.

Judge Blocks Planned Parenthood Defunding - Again
by Sarah Holliday
As part of President Donald Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill, which was signed on July 4, Medicaid funding previously funneled into Planned Parenthood and its affiliates was put on hold for one year. This measure, aimed at redirecting taxpayer dollars away from organizations that carry out elective abortions, was hailed by pro-life advocates as a step in the right direction in safeguarding unborn lives. Unsurprisingly, abortion activists were not keen on the legislation. In fact, on Tuesday, a federal judge appointed by former President Barack Obama issued a ruling that barred the Trump administration from enforcing the defunding in 22 Democratic-led states and the District of Columbia.
