Friend,

In just a few weeks, national news outlets and Democrats from across the country will be gathering in Houston for the next presidential debate.

There's a clear reason the Democratic Party chose to host the debate here, in Texas. Party Chairman Tom Perez said it outright:

"Like the people of Texas, our candidates come from all kinds of backgrounds, and are all united by their deeply held values. We've seen firsthand in Texas that organizing everywhere through the Texas Democratic Party has led to victories all across the state...making the state more competitive than it has been in decades."

People are finally starting to see what we've known for years: Texas has the potential to be the next big battleground state, and that's thanks to organizations like ours.

But we've still got work to do. All eyes will be on Texas during the debate -- this is our chance to prove to candidates, organizers, and the Democratic Party that our state will be a critical battleground.

We need Democrats to invest their time, energy, and money into Texas to make this state truly competitive -- we can't miss this opportunity to show them it's worth it.

The best way for us to prove that we can make Texas competitive is to register 2,020 new voters before next month's debate. Can you chip in now to help power these efforts?

With everyone's attention on Texas for the debate next month, this is our shot to make an impact -- let's show them what we can do:
