Charlie Kirk Wrote One Final Book Before His Death. Here’s Its Theme.

New details on Charlie Kirk’s final book emerged on Thursday, reaffirming that
the gunned-down political and cultural giant remained deeply committed to his
faith until his dying day.

Charlie finished the book, titled "Stop, In the Name of God: Why Honoring the
Sabbath Will Transform Your Life,” just weeks before his murder. His writings
are a "manifesto against the machine of modern life," encouraging Americans to
"stop in the name of God" and honor the Sabbath.

For whom did he write it? Not just religious people.

"It is written for the exhausted parent, the anxious student, the burned-out
executive, the soul-numbed scroller," Kirk said. "This is not a suggestion
manual or a spiritual upgrade for those with spare time… It is a call to war
against the endless noise and ceaseless hurry that have slowly robbed you of
your joy, your wonder, and your rest."

That is a theme worth remembering. In a country obsessed with stock
performance and GDP, it is imperative to slow down and focus on what really
matters. God, family, and the people we love. Charlie understood this better
than most. We miss him dearly.Read more

Stephen A. Smith Refuses to Cower on The View

Liberals often view themselves as the morality police, burdened by the heavy
task of deciding what is and is not permitted in decent society. What an
important job.

Stephen A. Smith pushed back against this highly coordinated farce on
Thursday, refusing to bend the knee toThe View after its hosts scolded his
political commentary.

"I’d love to give you the opportunity to perhaps change your position on what
you said,” show host Sunny Hostin told Smith after playing a clip of his
comments on Senator Mark Kelly.

"I’m not changing a thing," Smith shot back. "I didn’t stutter when I said it."

The video in question showed Stephen A. condemning Kelly for telling military
members to ignore Donald Trump’s orders, but that’s not the point of this story.

Americans are free people, and no one needs permission or the granting of an
opportunity from the uppity activists on The View to express or change their
opinions. They are not gatekeepers, no matter how highly of a regard in which
they hold themselves.

Like Sydney Sweeney said in her recent viral interview
<[link removed]>, “When I have an issue that I
want to speak about, people will hear.” But passive-aggressive bullying through
the Left-wing humiliation rituals won’t yield a thing.Read more

Here’s What We Know About the January 6th Pipe Bomb Suspect

Reports of the January 6th pipe bomb suspect’s arrest hit the press right
before yesterday’s newsletter release. 24 hours later, Americans have
considerably more information about the story. Here’s what we know.

Police arrested 30-year-old Virginia man Brian Cole Jr. on Thursday following
nearly five years of investigation. Authorities have offered limited details on
the suspect, but one federal law enforcement source reportedly said that the
FBI is carrying out "court-enforced activity" at his residence.

Cole graduated from Hylton High School in Virginia in 2013 and currently
lives 25 miles from the Capitol with his mother and other family members. He
works in the office of a bail bondsman, possibly his father’s, and has no
criminal history or known political affiliation.

Prosecutors say Cole purchased items consistent with the components used to
manufacture the January 6th pipe bombs in 2019 and 2020, and continued buying
more after his alleged crime. Cellphone data connected him to the attempted
bombing, and a license plate reader placed him near the RNC and DNC on the
night of January 5th. Cole will make his first court appearance on Friday. His
motive remains unknown.Read more

Zero Somali Refugees Have Entered U.S. Under the Trump Administration

A State Department spokesperson confirmed this week that the government has
admitted zero new Somali refugees into the United States since Donald Trump
reclaimed the presidency.

The president signed an executive order
<[link removed]>
suspending entry into the U.S. under the Refugee Admissions Program, leading
to only a handful of refugees from Afghanistan, El Salvador, and South Africa
coming to America. The administration’s policy marks a complete reversal from
the Biden years, when nearly 5,000 Somalis poured into our country between
October and January alone. Over 600 settled in Minnesota.

“Somalians ripped off that state for billions of dollars,” the president said
during his Tuesday cabinet meeting. “They contribute nothing. I don’t want them
in our country, I’ll be honest with you.”

He’s putting his money where his mouth is. Read more

Putin Rejects Trump’s Peace Plan

Vladimir Putin threw cold water on Donald Trump’s Russia-Ukraine peace
proposal on Thursday, saying his government “cannot agree” to its terms.

“We had to go through practically every point, which is why it took so much
time,” the Russian leader said during an interview with the Indian press. “It
was a meaningful, highly specific, and substantive conversation. Sometimes we
said, ‘Yes, we can discuss this, but with that one we cannot agree.’”

Putin did not elaborate on why Trump’s proposed terms are unacceptable, but
his stance offers a reminder that this conflict should be none of America’s
business. U.S. taxpayers have poured tens of billions of dollars into the
Ukraine War, and the West has made no progress in achieving peace. The program
clearly isn’t working, and that’s independent of the fact that it has nothing
to do with our country.

Every day the government hones its attention on this foreign entanglement is
a day the American people get less focus than they deserve. It’s time for a
priority shift.Read more

Québec Moves To Ban Public Religious Expression

Québec officials introduced a bill on Thursday that restricts most forms of
religious expression in public places and universities, seeking to regulate
religious symbols further and make Canada even more secular.

Bill No. 9, “An Act respecting the reinforcement of laicity in Québec,”
expands upon a previous law prohibiting public sector workers from wearing
religious symbols at work. The policy extends those regulations to a wide range
of public and partially-funded institutions, including jobs in childcare
centers, subsidized private schools, and some private health institutions.

The rule affects employees who wear symbols like visible crucifixes, and bans
the use of public parks and roads “for the purposes of collective religious
practice without the authorization of the municipality.”

The next time you hear someone deny the rise of authoritarianism in the West,
show them this story.Thou may not pray in the park without government
permission? No free society can exist under such a rule. Read more

Parents Can Use "Genetic Optimization" to Produce “Super-Babies”

Nucleus Genomics CEO Kian Sadeghi expressed his belief that every parent has
the right to design their unborn children this week, explaining to CBS Mornings
that "genetic optimization" can help produce "super-babies."

Backed by investors like Peter Thiel and Alexis Ohanian, Sadeghi’s company
uses a program called IVF+ to conduct full DNA scans of both future parents and
up to 20 embryos conceived through in vitro fertilization. The vetting covers
over 2,000 traits and conditions, including eye color, hair color,
intelligence, and even acne. Parents are then presented with their options in a
sleek-looking menu to design their optimal offspring.

How much does this cost? Just a cool $30,000. If you think about it, that’s
notthat much for the ability to play God. But we’ll enthusiastically pass. Read

Police Recover Swallowed Fabergé Pendant After Six-Day Wait

New Zealand police have recovered a James Bond-inspired Fabergé pendant after
six days of closely monitoring a man accused of swallowing it in a jewelry
store.

Investigators secured the valuable jewel after it exited the suspect’s
gastrointestinal tract naturally without medical intervention. In other words,
he pooped it out.

Law enforcement released a photo of the valuable asset after its recovery,
showing a gloved hand holding the pendant and its long, gold chain with an
intact price tag of $19,000. Police arrested the unnamed suspect on November
28th shortly after the theft and held him in custody for six days while waiting
for the evidence to reemerge.

The highly creative would-be thief is due to appear in court on Monday. It is
unclear how much the ordeal decreased the pendant’s value.Read more

This Day in History

December 5, 1933: Prohibition ends. Utah became the 36th state to ratify the
18th Amendment, bringing an end to America’s national ban on the “manufacture,
sale, or transportation of intoxicating liquors for beverage purposes,” of
alcohol. The government largely failed to enforce its anti-booze policy
throughout the 1920s, with large-scale bootleggers like Al Capone building
criminal empires out of illegal distribution efforts. The rule rapidly lost
popular support in the early 1930s, and Congress passed the 18th Amendment
earlier in 1933. Some states still maintained temperance laws in the following
decades, and Mississippi became the final state to end its prohibition in 1966.
