| Dear John -- It’s been almost a month since we successfully ended the Schumer Shutdown and finally reopened the government. For 43 days, Senate Democrats tried to extort and punish regular Americans, federal workers, our military personnel, and so much more—all for political gain. For weeks, food banks across the nation had to work overtime, countless employees struggled to pay rent, and needy families who rely on federal programs like SNAP took a massive hit. The Senate GOP, with the exception of one member, stood united with House Republicans and the Trump administration to end the liberal blockade, turn the lights back on and get back to work for the American people. All along, Democrats tried to extort Republicans for $1.5 trillion in far-left priorities, including taxpayer-funded health care for illegal alien criminals. As promised, we didn’t give an inch. We held the line with President Trump. You saw how my colleagues and I overcame adversity to work for you. Now that the government is back open, I want to hear from you. What should we address next? Please take a moment to share your priorities through the survey below – and keep in mind that federal election law limits how much I'm allowed to communicate with constituents during election years, so answering these questions will opt you in to continue hearing from me even during those periods. Thank you for putting me in this fight, Markwayne |
