Team, I wanted to share some of my conversation with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Tuesday:
She and I talked about the eviction crisis, and how 20 million people are on track to face eviction before October. We talked about our Goya boycott, and how companies can't get away with standing side-by-side with Donald Trump. We talked about the need to reimagine policing and to continue our fight for justice.
And we talked about how, to address those issues, we need to build a national, grassroots movement that will elect progressive candidates at all levels of government.
That's what our team is doing every day. Like AOC said, People First Future is putting gas in the tank for changing our country.
AOC and I know that, if we want progressive change in this country, then we need to elect candidates who have the courage, wisdom, and vision to embrace large, sweeping solutions.
Because, like AOC said during our chat, when our problems are so large and sweeping, our solutions need to be large and sweeping, too.
But electing candidates who believe in that kind of change won't just happen. It will take hard work; it will take grassroots supporters like you building a national movement for change.
And keep an eye on your inbox; I'm planning to work with more leaders like AOC to grow this movement before November's pivotal elections.
Thank you for being a part of this,
Julián Castro
