Health professionals have been clear on how to stop this
pandemic. We need to practice social distancing, wear masks
around other people, and ramp up national testing and contact
tracing.

But Donald Trump has gone beyond simply ignoring the scientists
-- he has actively contradicted and undermined them. He has put
millions of Americans at greater risk by deliberately hiding the
reality of COVID-19 and misleading the public. First, he told us
we didn't need masks, then he openly called for LESS testing, and
he and his White House launched attacks on experts like Dr. Fauci,
and now he is ordering hospitals to stop reporting COVID-19 data
to the CDC's public database.

By reporting public data to a private firm connected to
political appointees in the Department of Health and Human
Services, instead of the CDC, Trump wants to control reporting on
the number of cases and deaths -- a set-up for a cover-up.

Let's be clear: Access to accurate data is vital to fighting
this pandemic.

Trump is endangering American lives. Please sign your name to
demand that Trump give the CDC the data and tools necessary to
track this pandemic and save lives.

Hospitals are at a loss right now trying to understand why the
White House would take the unprecedented step of establishing a
system to stifle and manipulate data collection in the middle of
a pandemic.

Hiding the truth because it's inconvenient is a routine tactic
of an authoritarian administration with nothing but contempt for
our tradition of democracy.

We must know what's happening in our nation's hospitals. If you
agree that we need transparency and accountability, please sign
on now. ( [link removed] )
