We’re launching a fast, visual, high-impact campaign to stop FCC Docket 25-276 and H.B. 2289, two elements of the federal push that would strip communities of their right to control wireless infrastructure. Families across the country will have no meaningful say over cell towers and antennas being built near schools, playgrounds, churches, daycare centers, or in the middle of residential neighborhoods. The FCC and Congress are trying to remove local voices and hand control to federal agencies and an industry completely shielded from liability: big telecom.

This holiday season, we’re asking everyone to make our opposition visible at community events — tree lightings, holiday fairs, parades, town gatherings — anywhere people are out in force.

It’s time to get off the couch and LIGHT IT UP for Local Control.

How to Take Action (Simple + Ready to Go)

1. Show Up Locally

• Find your town’s official Christmas tree lighting or similar holiday events
• Gather friends, neighbors, and fellow advocates
• Show up with signs to help spark conversations and raise awareness. Use our ready-to-print designs to ensure the message is clear, consistent, and powerful across all communities.
• Distribute this flyer to event-goers and start conversations by asking open-ended questions that encourage them to think and engage.

2. Drive People to Act

• Complete the one click action alerts on this page and be sure to call your representatives if given that option at the end of the alert. 
• Use the flyer to encourage others to take action. Invite them to scan the QR code and complete the action alert right there.
• Share the action alerts with your email lists and on social channels and encourage others to do the same.

3. Capture & Share

• Take pictures/videos of your presence at the tree lighting and other holiday events and share them on your social media using the hashtag #LightItUp
• Send your pictures/video to [email protected] so we can amplify nationwide.
• Submit a short write-up along with photos of your advocacy efforts to your local newspapers to help raise awareness in your community.
