Friend,
Last month there was an immigration raid on the Northside of San Antonio, resulting in 143 people being taken into custody in a chaotic scene for our community.
But despite the raid taking place more than two weeks ago, there has been no information provided on the whereabouts of more than 100 people.
That’s why I joined my colleague Rep. Greg Casar in a letter to DHS, DOJ, ICE, and the FBI demanding a full accounting of the raid — including details on the warrant, the people targeted, and the status of those who were taken into custody.

Friend, if these raids were about targeting criminals, they wouldn’t hide the truth from elected officials and the public.
San Antonio is a community of immigrants. Whether you’re a new San Antonian or someone whose family has been here for generations, we celebrate our heritage and the contributions of the immigrant community to our success.
The Trump administration’s mass deportation agenda is about destroying that heritage. It’s about stoking fear and division in communities across the country. And it’s truly shameful.
I refuse to be silent while the people of my district are targeted and terrorized by this administration. I will keep fighting for immigrant communities in Texas and across the country. And I hope you’ll join me in that fight.
Help us keep fighting back — chip in $15, $25, or whatever you can to help us defend immigrant families and hold the Trump administration accountable. We can’t allow our neighbors to be disappeared by a lawless authoritarian administration.
Thank you,
-Joaquin
