Christmas Walk Reminders

Christmas Walk [ [link removed] ]

Oswego’s annual Christmas Walk returns tomorrow Dec. 5, and the downtown area will come alive with festivities from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Free shuttle service will operate between Oswego High School (4250 State Rt. 71) and the event throughout the evening, with additional parking available at Oswego Village Hall, Public parking lot on Harrison Street (across from Taco Dale Cantina) and the parking deck at The Reserve at Hudson Crossing (77 South Adams Street).

The downtown will be alive with holiday music, creating a festive soundtrack as visitors explore everything this year’s celebration has to offer. Throughout the evening, guests can take in the sparkle of the tree lighting ceremony, watch an ice sculptor transform blocks of ice into winter art, and visit live reindeer that bring an extra touch of seasonal wonder. Families can capture the moment with photos with Santa and kids can race down the inflatable sled hill for nonstop thrills. With additional activities sprinkled throughout the event, the excitement builds right up to the grand finale when the night concludes with an emergency vehicle parade that lights up the streets.

Food will be available both outdoors and indoors. Outdoor offerings will include Chick-fil-A, DillaDawgs, Genoa Italian Concessions, Grumpy Gaucho, Hell’s BBQ, Krispology, Lincoln Land Kettle Corn, Little Love Sweet Treats and Pierogi Rig. Plus, you can warm up with a bite to eat at one of Oswego's best downtown restaurants!

Traffic Update

Starting in early Dec., crews will begin installing a new watermain between Della and Fifth along Wolfs Crossing. This work is expected to continue through the winter and may extend into the Douglas Roundabout project in the spring, depending on weather conditions.

During this period, motorists may experience minor and occasional traffic delays. Flaggers and posted signs will be in place to help direct traffic and maintain safety throughout the work zone.

We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation as these infrastructure improvements move forward. Drivers are encouraged to use caution and remain alert when traveling through the area.

ADA Improvements Arrive in Downtown Oswego

ADA

You might have seen a new ramp on Main Street in downtown Oswego recently. The improvement is part of a project made possible by Representative Matt Hansen, who secured $100,000 in state funding for the Village of Oswego to install a ADA-compliant ramp in the downtown.

The new ramp is now open to the public, just in time for the Christmas Walk!

This investment enhances access to several downtown shops that were previously difficult or impossible to reach for residents and visitors with disabilities. The improvement marks an important step in making the heart of Oswego more welcoming to all.
