John,
We can flip a seat in Texas on January 31st but we need your help to make it happen.
Democrat Taylor Rehmet has forced a runoff election in Senate District 9. He’s a union leader, veteran, and working-class Texan through and through. He grew up in the district, lives the values of hard work and community, and understands the issues that matter to everyday Texans.
Last year, Trump won this district by more than 17 points. But last month, Taylor finished in first place with 48% of the vote and is heading to a runoff.
This moment is part of a bigger swing happening across the country. Just look at the recent special congressional election in Tennessee: while Republicans ultimately held the seat, it was a single-digit margin in a district that Trump won by 22 points last year. Democrats are gaining ground. Momentum is on our side. But we have to keep organizing.
Senate District 9 includes parts of Tarrant County, which Beto won in 2018 before it flipped back red last year. Winning here isn’t just about one seat—it’s about building a democratic foothold and showing that we have momentum in Texas. We’re on the ground, organizing in communities across the state, and registering and educating voters so candidates like Taylor Rehmet can win. But we can’t do it alone.
Let’s build the power we need to win—together.
Thank you,
