John,

Minnesota’s fraud crisis is finally national news and for good reason.

What started with reimbursements for millions of phantom meals that were never
served has exploded into over$1 billion in accused welfare and social-services
fraud. And now, the situation has boiled over so dramatically that hundreds of
Minnesota DHS employees are publicly blaming Governor Tim Walz for allowing
systemic failures and retaliating against whistleblowers.

But let’s be clear: NONE of this is news to us.

My colleagues and I have been fighting for years to expose the waste, the
fraud, and the lack of accountability inside Minnesota’s state programs.

Here’s our timeline of action:

* September 30, 2022: Our Minnesota Republican delegation—with House
Committee Chairs Virginia Foxx, G.T. Thompson, and James Comer—sent our first
letter to the USDA demanding stronger oversight of Minnesota’s nutrition
programs.
* July 20, 2023: When the response was inadequate, we followed up.
* November 13, 2023: We pressed again for answers.
* June 12, 2024: As the Feeding Our Future trials began, we sent a fourth
letter to the Minnesota Department of Education. That letter—supported again by
Chairs Foxx, Thompson, and Comer—is what ultimately led to the subpoena of Gov.
Tim Walz in September 2024.
* 2025: We continued sending letters and demanding answers as more fraud
schemes—housing fraud, autism therapy fraud, grant fraud, and Medicaid
fraud—came to light.
So when I say we’ve been fighting for accountability for years, I mean it.

We didn’t discover this problem because it hit the headlines. We’ve been
working to push it there! Minnesota’s Republican delegation has been on top of
it, filing oversight requests, supporting federal investigators, and demanding
transparency while the Walz administration looked the other way.

And there is more accountability on the horizon. My team and I will make sure
of it.

John, if you want to help us in fighting fraud, holding Walz and fraudsters
accountable, and protecting taxpayer dollars, I hope you’ll stand with me today:
