President's Message

It's National Influenza Vaccination Week! School nurses play a vital role in protecting the health of students, families, and staff by encouraging annual flu vaccination and sharing up-to-date, evidence-based information to help prevent the spread of infectious diseases.

Flu vaccination continues to be recommended for everyone in the U.S. ages 6 months and older for the 2025–2026 season, with rare exceptions for those with contraindications.

Awareness drives action. Families Fighting Flu—a national nonprofit dedicated to protecting children and communities—offers practical tools and educational materials to support healthy families throughout flu season. Join NASN and Families Fighting Flu in spreading the word about the importance of flu vaccination.
