Hi John,

As we embark on the season of Advent, we invite you to join a powerful moment of prayer and solidarity with migrants on December 10th at 5:00 PM PT / 8:00 PM ET, hosted by our One Church One Family Campaign, with special appearances from Bishop Brendan Cahill, the newly appointed chair of the USCCB Migration Committee, and Bishop Michael Pham of the Diocese of San Diego.

Register to Attend

The vigil will be held primarily in Spanish on YouTube, with live interpretation into English via Zoom. You can also stream directly from the One Church One Family website at 1family.us. We encourage you to share this invitation widely, especially with communities that may feel afraid to participate in public or parish life during these challenging times.

Over the past weeks, Catholics around the country, from Washington, D.C. to Maine, from the chapels of Jesuit high schools to parish gardens and public squares, have taken to the streets, to lift up migrants and refugees. Thousands of people of faith have gathered in unified moral witness to say immigrants and refugees are not alone.

These actions aren’t isolated protests. They are a movement.

By gathering online for this vigil across time zones and languages, we strengthen this national chorus of solidarity. We hope you’ll join us, and help spread the word. In gathering together we live the Gospel: welcoming the stranger, loving our neighbor, and proclaiming the dignity of every person.

In solidarity and hope,

Jon Gromek
Director of Justice Formation and Action

P.S. Please consider forwarding this email to friends, family, parish communities, or anyone who might be searching for a place to belong. The more voices that gather, the stronger our witness.
