Hi John, this is Aftyn Behn.

I wanted you to hear directly from me about Tuesday’s results. While this wasn’t the outcome we were hoping for, it’s clear that we’ve already made history.

First and foremost: thank you for everything. I am so proud of this campaign and grateful beyond words for the over 2,000 volunteers who showed out. This is about more than just one election — we have been part of a nationwide movement that actually gives a damn about working people.

We’ve done so much together. More than anyone expected of us.

We knocked 70,000 doors and made over 185,000 phone calls — reaching 358,000 voters in the district.

We made the President himself work to keep a seat he carried by 22 points just last year, and the national political establishment came after us in full force. The margin was close, even with super PACs spending seven figures against us.

The tides are turning. People are fed up with the dysfunction in Washington and are demanding more from their elected officials.

We showed that no seat is safe for an administration who has failed to deliver on lowering healthcare costs, making groceries more affordable, and protecting our families.

I am deeply humbled by the faith you placed in me. Fighting for our state isn't about who you voted for or what political party you’re a part of, it’s about making sure working people finally have a seat at the table.

What has started here in TN-07 has already sent shockwaves across the country. And together, we are rewriting the playbook for the Deep South. We are showing what we can do when we come together and fight for working people.

The road ahead is bright — in Tennessee and all across the country.

For more than a decade I've worked as an organizer, anchored by one singular purpose: serving my community. This is just the beginning. I’m not done fighting for Tennessee, and I hope to see you out there.

A pissed-off social worker, Aftyn has seen firsthand how broken systems fail the very people they’re meant to protect. She’s now running for Congress after the so-called “Big, Beautiful Bill” passed — a giveaway to the wealthy that codified the largest transfer of wealth from working people to the rich in American history.
Throughout her career, she’s fought to shift power away from corporate special interests and corrupt politicians — and put it back where it belongs: in the hands of the communities that make Tennessee and this country strong.
