Evictions may soon leave 28 million homeless in the United States. To survive this crisis, people need money to pay their rent and protection from eviction and foreclosure.

A one-time stimulus payment was not enough. And, with millions remaining unemployed and unemployment benefits expiring at the end of July, we can’t wait any longer to pass Kamala’s bill to provide $2,000 every month throughout this pandemic—and for three months after this crisis — so people can afford to stay in their homes.

Renters also need protections from negative credit reporting, rent increases, utility shut offs and bad landlords who violate housing laws. This is why we also need to pass Kamala’s RELIEF Act.

Yet sadly, Mitch McConnell is refusing to provide assistance or protections to millions of Americans who are struggling to make ends meet.
