Friend,

Trump recently told a New Hampshire rally "You have no choice but to vote for me" — telling voters they had to support his re-election campaign or they would suffer the economic consequences.

On the surface, our economy appears to be performing well: corporate profits are soaring, unemployment is low, and consumer spending is up. But as Trump’s trade war with China escalates, worries grow about a global recession.

We can prevent another economic crisis if we act now, but first, we need to know: Do you believe we’re on the brink of another economic recession? Take the poll now >> [link removed]

Trump has shown time and again that he’s using the presidency for his own personal gain. And thanks to his policies, the rich are getting richer at an unprecedented rate. In fact, America’s richest one percent today control more wealth than at any time since 1929.

Meanwhile, workers’ wages have barely budged. The cost of college and health care is at an all-time high. So no matter how hard Americans work, many feel like they can’t get ahead. As a result, too many families are racking up more and more debt just to keep up.

So let’s be clear: this economy might be working for the ultra-wealthy, but when middle-class families can no longer afford to buy the goods and services that businesses are selling — it drags down the entire economy, from bottom to top.

While Trump and Republicans dolled out a $1 trillion tax cut for the privileged few, Hakeem and House Democrats are working on the kitchen-table issues that affect everyday Americans. The House has passed monumental legislation to raise the federal minimum wage, ensure our seniors can retire with dignity, and put more money in the pockets of working families.

Everyday Americans deserve an economy that works for everyone — not just the wealthy and well-connected. Tell us where you think the U.S. economy stands now. Take the poll >> [link removed]
