For 30 years, Animal Outlook has exposed the truth of what happens on factory farms, delivered justice for animals, and inspired people to choose vegan. To celebrate three decades of joining together to protect animals, we're announcing our year end matching gift challenge. Will you help us reach our $100,000 goal by making a gift? When you do, your donation will be doubled, dollar for dollar, by a generous supporter. Our next win for animals is right around the corner, but we can't do it without you.
Here are just a few of the victories your compassion has made possible:
Cal-Cruz Hatcheries shut down
Our 2009 undercover footage exposed horrific abuse of chicks and ducklings. When local authorities wouldn't act, we pursued legal action, ultimately securing a settlement and contributing to the facility's permanent closure. A place of suffering became a place for new beginnings, as the facility was bulldozed and turned into a new community.
Mr. Ferguson's farm transition
In southeast Alabama, veteran poultry farmer Bill Ferguson worked with our Farm Transitions program to convert a former chicken shed into a pilot lettuce-growing farm supplying local schools and grocery stores. With our team's financial, technical, and market support, the first crop was harvested in May of 2025. As a result of our efforts, over 400,000 chickens per year are being spared from a life of suffering. Bill's story shows how shifting from animal agriculture to plant-based production can uplift farmers, communities, and the environment while reducing the number of animals in our food system.
DC VegFest: inspiring thousands to choose compassion
For years, Animal Outlook hosted DC VegFest, welcoming more than 20,000 attendees and 120+ exhibitors annually in the nation's capital. The annual festival introduced countless people to vegan food, education, and community, helping thousands on their journey to a more compassionate way of life.
This is the impact of informed, relentless advocacy. These actions, as well as hundreds more that AO has undertaken over the years, was made possible by supporters like you.
Today, please honor 30 years of progress with a gift of $30 (or any amount meaningful to you). Thanks to a generous supporter, your donation will be doubled, up to $100,000, through December 31.
For justice and compassion,
Ben Williamson
Executive Director
