As an Air Force veteran who was deployed when my kids were young, I understand the sacrifices our military families are forced to make. Thankfully, I also know the incredible difference the USO — with your support — makes.

So, I want to be the first to say thank you. Thank you to everyone who donated to support our heroes this Giving Tuesday.

It's loyal military supporters like you who make it possible for us to provide meals, care packages, connections to home and so much more for our service members, no matter where they are deployed. In a year that has been even more challenging for our heroes in uniform, your generous support mattered more than ever.

You've stepped up for the members of our military at a time when many have been away from loved ones for weeks, months or even years — and deployment is often loneliest during the holidays.

As a nonprofit, our work to support the well-being of the people serving in America's military and their families simply wouldn't be possible without the generosity of caring friends like you.

Thank you for reminding our brave service members that they haven't been forgotten.
