John,
While we’re waiting for the official election results from the NYC Board of Elections, I have some exciting news to share with you: just moments ago, the Associated Press finally officially called our election, securing our victory.
I’m honored to be the Democratic nominee from New York’s 16th District for Congress. I’m ready to get to work for the people of the Bronx and Westchester, and fight for a transformed economy, good jobs, and a Green New Deal in Washington.
I especially wanted to thank the Sunrise Movement for believing in me and in the vision of our grassroots campaign. Thank you for all the organizing, phone banking, and support. Sunrisers made over 60% of the phonecalls that our campaign made to constituents in NY-16, making sure people knew they had a choice in this election. We’ve done incredible work over the past year—none of which would have been possible without you.
To celebrate our now-certain win, can I count on you to split a contribution between my campaign and Sunrise Movement today? Your donation will help fund the critical work of Sunrise, as well as my campaign as I get ready for November:

The primary may be behind us, but our fight has just begun. We’re now looking towards making sure we’re set up to win in November’s general election, continuing conversations with constituents, supporting other progressives who are ready to fight for a transformed economy in upcoming key primaries, and so much more.
It’s not going to be easy to accomplish this. But I know that this team has been a part of making amazing things happen in the past—and for wholeheartedly believing in and fighting for a better, more just future.
By splitting a contribution today between my campaign and Sunrise, you’re supporting our critical work in changing the future. Will you chip in $5 or whatever you’re able to?
Thank you for all your support, John. I wouldn’t be here without it.
