The results are in from Tennessee’s 7th District, and while we didn’t win, what happened last night is going to reshape the battlefield for 2026.
Republicans only held onto this seat by about 9 points. Last cycle, they won it by 22.
That means voters in one of the GOP’s “safest” districts moved thirteen points toward Democrats, even after Trump personally intervened, his super PAC dumped seven figures into the race, and Mike Johnson flew in to save it.
If Republicans are suddenly defending districts they used to sleep through, they’re going to have to spend money in places they never planned to. That means fewer resources for them in actual swing districts and more opportunities for Democrats to compete. The 2026 field is shifting and fast!
John, we’re proud of the work we did together in TN-07, and we’re already digging into the data to understand exactly where this movement is gaining strength. We’ll follow up with a full analysis soon.
