ICE just announced it is launching a “Citizens Academy” pilot program in Chicago. This “academy” will train CITIZENS to PROFILE and ARREST undocumented immigrants. This program will undoubtedly lead to violence and terror targeted at immigrants and undocumented people.

It’s no surprise that ICE is starting this program here in Chicago. We are the nation’s first sanctuary city and have a proud, welcoming community that will not tolerate the criminalization of immigrants.

It’s also unconscionable to push this in the middle of a pandemic and at a time when millions have taken to the streets calling for humane and restorative justice systems.
