This week we learned that 5.4 million Americans have lost their health insurance during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The fact that this happened during a global health crisis makes that news even harder to swallow, but the thing is, that should never happen in a country like ours.

Health care shouldn’t be tied to your employment, and it shouldn’t take a recession during a pandemic to tell us that. Health care is a right, not a privilege -- and Medicare for All is a practical, data-driven solution to make sure everyone has the coverage they need.
