Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth have a disturbing vision of a militarized America.
The Department of War, as they call it, sending troops to our cities with no legal basis.
Masked ICE agents conducting unannounced raids, snatching people from their daily lives without the slightest suspicion of wrongdoing.
The National Guard — illegally federalized — patrolling our communities.
I will not stand by while this administration tramples our state sovereignty and bulldozes our rights.
Today I want to give you a quick update on our National Guard lawsuit, filed back in June when Trump used an illegal scheme to federalize the CA National Guard and deploy troops to LA.
As of today, Angelenos are still living under an unnecessary military presence — with no end in sight.
This. Is. Illegal.
So we took Trump to court, and these are our demands:
→ End the extended and needless federalization of California National Guard troops.
→ Send our hardworking servicemembers back to their regular duty and regular lives.
→ Free Los Angeles from a completely unjustified military occupation.
Trump and Hegseth can’t be allowed to unlawfully infringe on Californians’ rights with impunity — and I’ll keep fighting until they’re held accountable.
