Dear Friend,
As we reach the midpoint of Giving Tuesday, we want to pause to acknowledge something important: this day isn’t about meeting a number. It’s about choosing generosity in a political moment defined by cruelty.
People in ICE detention continue to call us every day with stories of retaliation, medical neglect, and isolation made worse by dismantled oversight systems and an emboldened administration. And yet, even against this backdrop, we see something different reflected in the generosity of our community — a commitment to care that cannot be extinguished.
If you’ve already given today, thank you. If you haven’t yet and you’re able to, your support helps sustain work that cannot pause:
Keeping our hotline open so people inside detention can reach someone who will listen, document, and support them
Creating and updating legal and medical materials that people rely on to navigate systems designed to break them
Staying connected to people organizing from inside detention, ensuring their leadership guides our work
Holding agencies accountable when they attempt to disappear the harm they cause
Giving Tuesday is about radical generosity, not as a slogan, but as a practice. A reminder that in moments of escalating violence, we can choose care, connection, and solidarity.
If you’re able, please make your Giving Tuesday contribution this afternoon:
