WINTER WEATHER DRIVES ILLINOIS PRODUCT HOLIDAY MARKET INDOORS

Three-day shopping event moving to Springfield’s Union Station

SPRINGFIELD, IL – The Illinois Product Holiday Market will be held indoors at Springfield’s Union Station, 500 East Madison Street, due to near-freezing temperatures in the weekend forecast. Union Station is located directly across the street from the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum in downtown Springfield.

The market, originally scheduled for the “Y Block” downtown, will be held on December 5, 6, and 7 and will feature a wide array of Illinois products that are perfect for everyone on your shopping list this season.

“We are grateful to our state agency partners for making Union Station available for the comfort of our shoppers and vendors,” said Jackie Sambursky, Illinois Department of Agriculture’s Bureau Chief of Marketing. “The market features live music, Illinois wine, and unique local products that make perfect gifts for everyone on your shopping list.”

Vendors include favorites like Rolling Lawns Farm, Jon Ellis Woodworking, Twyford BBQ, MKS Meats, Custom Cup Coffee, Berries and Flour: Bakery and Harvest Goods, and many more. Enjoy delicious ready-to-eat food like Kurtos pierogies and Polish sausage while you shop.

The Illinois Product Holiday Market is designed with families in mind. Bring the kids to our free holiday workshop, where they can create ornaments and write letters to Santa. Children will also be able to visit Santa, times listed below. Enjoy live music throughout the event, where all activities are free.

For those aged 21 and older, Illinois Wine will host a wine tasting experience featuring seven wineries from across the state. Admission to the wine tent is $10, which includes six tasting tickets and a special commemorative tumbler.

The market is proudly sponsored by the Illinois Department of Agriculture, Illinois Wine, Illinois Farm Bureau, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Downtown Springfield, Inc., and Sangamon Mass Transit District.
